The construction of an oncology center in the Perm Region is ongoing, despite attempts by the regional prosecutor’s office to halt it in both 2022 and 2023. Dmitry Makhonin, the governor of the region, announced that the foundation is now complete, and the initial floors of both the central and ward blocks are currently being poured with concrete.
The facility boasts 550 inpatient beds, comprising 360 for surgical care, along with 10 specialized treatment spots for radiopharmaceutical therapies—currently available only in federal clinics.
The construction of the center with a total area of 70,000 square meters is planned to be completed in 2026. “The new oncology center will become part of the Kama Valley medical cluster, where the City of the Heart and the Perinatal Center are already located. In terms of equipment, the new oncology center will become one of the leading in the country and will stand on a par with federal institutions,” Makhonin said.
