A Russian enterprise has launched the production of four veterinary vaccines. The federal state enterprise “Shchelkovo Biochemical Plant” has expanded its range of domestic veterinary drugs by starting the production of several vaccines for livestock. According to the plant’s director, Oleg Akilin, the production of four new vaccines for pig farming has been mastered, which protect against circovirus infection, Aujeszky’s disease, reproductive and respiratory syndrome, and classical swine fever. All products have been developed considering the specifics of Russian pathogen strains.
The production process has been modernized with the introduction of modern technological solutions aimed at optimizing purification and enhancing the efficiency of the drugs. Akilin stated that post-clinical trials in various livestock farms have demonstrated high effectiveness for the new vaccines.
As part of an import substitution program, the enterprise has also resumed the previously halted production of five poultry vaccines, including preparations against Newcastle disease based on “La-Sota” and “Bor-74 VGNKI” strains, as well as vaccines against infectious bronchitis and bursal disease in chickens.
