The Circle of Kindness Foundation may be exempt from VAT on the drugs not registered in Russia that are transferred to the Foundation

The government will work out various options for VAT exemption for transactions in the transfer of medicines not registered in Russia to the Circle of Kindness Foundation, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said at a meeting with members of the Chamber of the Federation Council.

“We will work out the options, and most likely, we will opt for providing exemption from this tax in respect of transfer on drugs not registered in Russia to the Foundation. Another option is to release the Foundation from tax when it provides such drugs to patients. I will instruct the Ministry of Finance accordingly in order to prepare proposals for changing the legislation as soon as possible. I think we will solve this issue,” the prime minister said.

In May, the Public Chamber summed up the results of the work of the Circle of Kindness Foundation over the past year.  The participants of the round table discussed the achievements and the problems that the charity organization has faced, as well as new areas of work, the demand for which has been identified over this time. By that time, the Foundation was supporting more than 3,000 people. According to Archpriest Aleksandr Tkachenko, chairman of the Public Chamber Commission on Charity and Social Work and the head of the Circle of Kindness Foundation, by the end of this year their number will exceed 4,000.
