In Russia, there are no plans to change the time intervals for revaccination against COVID-19

Anna Popova, the head of Rospotrebnadzor, speaking in the margins of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), said that Russia has no plans to change the time intervals in the recommendations for COVID-19 revaccination.

“No, there are no plans to change the intervals. Today people have an opportunity to get vaccinated at the right time. Of course, this has to be done before winter comes. This is recommended for everyone,” RIA Novosti quotes Popova as saying.

Currently, the recommendation to get revaccinated from COVID-19 every six months remains in force.

According to Vasily Osmakov, the first deputy head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the production of vaccines against coronavirus infection in Russia was officially stopped in November last year due to decreasing rate of vaccination. About 100 million doses are currently stored in warehouses.

The COVID-19 incidence in the world and related mortality have decreased by more than 90% compared to the peak values of 2022, according to Tedros Adanom Ghebreyesus, Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO).
