The Ministry of Health’s Commission on Drug Lists has officially approved the addition of the antibiotic ceftobiprole medocaril and the medication goflikicept to the list of vital and essential drugs (VED). The decision was made at a meeting on November 7, 2024. The application for the inclusion of the drug anagrelide, used to reduce platelets, was rejected by the commission.

Chinese company invests 1.7 billion rubles in heparin plant in Moscow region

The Main Directorate of the State Construction Supervision of the Moscow Region has granted approval for the construction of a sodium heparin manufacturing facility in Voskresensk. A Chinese investor from Shandong, in collaboration with Severny Okean LLC in Russia, has committed an impressive 1.7 billion rubles to the project, which is slated for completion by May 2026.
The Ministry of Health approved a new indication for a non-small cell lung cancer drug

Roche has announced that the Russian Ministry of Health has broadened the indications for Alectinib, now approved for use as adjuvant therapy in patients with ALK-positive non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). A Phase III study demonstrated that the drug significantly lowers the risk of relapse and death in patients following tumor resection.

Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko has revealed the allocation of 51 billion rubles as part of national initiatives aimed at tackling oncological diseases, alongside extensive plans to upgrade the medical infrastructure. During his speech at the “National Healthcare” congress, he reported that Russian scientists are currently conducting clinical trials of domestic drugs based on oncologic viruses to combat oncological diseases, completing preclinical trials of a drug for Crigler-Najjar syndrome and preparing to conduct a clinical trial.
The volume of production of dietary supplements increased by 27% in 2024 in Moscow

The Moscow Department of Investment and Industrial Policy reports that manufacturers in Moscow produced more than 130 tons of dietary supplements from January to August 2024, marking a remarkable 27% increase compared to the same period in 2023. Anatoly Garbuzov, the head of the department, highlighted that local enterprises are manufacturing a wide array of products designed to boost immunity, such as vitamin complexes, medical supplies, and foods enriched with essential microelements.
