In 2024, Russians spent approximately 1.6 trillion rubles on medications. According to the press service of the Center for the Development of Advanced Technologies, this represents a 1.4% increase in the number of packages sold.
An analysis of sales structure revealed that analgesics held the largest market share in natural terms at 6.8%, followed by anti-inflammatory and anti-rheumatic drugs at 6.6%, and cold medications at 6.4%. The highest sales volume in monetary terms was recorded for nasal decongestants based on xylometazoline, which reached 24.8 billion rubles in 2024, marking a 12.6% increase in value and a 2.3% increase in quantity compared to the previous year.
Ibuprofen-based medications and a combination of hesperidin with diosmin ranked second and third in revenue, generating 17.4 billion and 16.7 billion rubles, respectively, with sales growth rates of 8.6% and 15.1%. In terms of quantity, ibuprofen products surpassed those containing omeprazole used for gastrointestinal diseases. The demand for venotonics with hesperidin and diosmin increased by 4.9% compared to 2023.
