From January to August 2024, Russia’s medicinal product production totaled 530.7 billion rubles

RNC Pharma unveiled insights regarding drug production activities in Russia for August 2024. In total, pharmaceutical companies produced 329 million packages of finished drugs this month. The natural dynamics show a decline of 6.1% in packages compared to August 2023.

In January-August 2023, the total production volume of finished drugs reached 530.7 billion rubles. The dynamics compared to the same period in 2023 is 16.7%. Among the 20 largest prescription drug manufacturers ranked by natural shipment volume, 16 are showing positive growth trends. Sotex recorded the highest production volume increase at an impressive 83.8% in packages, while Grotex experienced the most significant decline, with a decrease of 25.3%.

The best dynamics were demonstrated by the drug “Kivexa” (abacavir + lamivudine) from the Indian company “Lok-Beta Pharmaceuticals” – over the year, its shipments increased by 119 times (in packages). The production of the drug is localized at the facilities of “Pharmconcept” in the village of Redkino, Tver Region. In second place is “Etravirine” from “PSK Pharma” (growth by 103 times). Shipments of the drug began in May 2023.
