According to Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko, 62 radiopharmaceuticals have been officially approved for use in Russia. Just last year, only 54 were registered, with 90% being domestically manufactured.
“Today, large government resources are being invested in this area. And in the next stage of the implementation of national projects, funding will also be supported,” the minister stated, speaking at the V International Forum “Innovative Oncology” dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Research Institute of Clinical and Experimental Radiology of the N.N. Blokhin National Medical Research Center of Oncology.
He also said that over the past five years, the one-year mortality rate of cancer patients in Russia has decreased by 18%. At the same time, according to Murashko, the share of malignant neoplasms detected at early stages has increased by 7%. “And 2024 will maintain the trends achieved in previous years,” he added.
