Russian cancer vaccine passes preclinical trials

Clinical trials for a cancer vaccine in Russia will soon commence, following the approval of the Russian Ministry of Health. The chief oncologist of the Ministry of Health and the general director of the National Medical Research Center of Radiology, Andrey Kaprin, made this announcement during a press conference commemorating the center’s 10th anniversary.

The vaccine has already completed successful preclinical trials, and a formal request to begin clinical trials has already been submitted to the Ministry of Health. Kaprin also stressed that patients undergoing chemotherapy must finish their treatment before being able to take part in the trials.

“We have passed the preclinical [preclinical trials]. Now a letter has been sent to the Ministry of Health so that they will allow us to begin the first phase of trials. And as soon as they allow it, we will publish on the website that we are ready to recruit volunteers with medical indications,” Kaprin said at a press conference dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the National Medical Research Center of Radiology of the Russian Ministry of Health.
