Voluntary vaccination against plague has begun in Mongolia and will last until August 1, 2024. This information was reported by Lhunrev Rolomjav, the head of the Public Health Department of the Emergency Work Service at the country’s National Center for the Study of Zoonotic Infections.
“Voluntary vaccination against plague in our country begins annually in the third week of July. This year, the vaccination period has been extended until August 1st. Since 2015, a drug produced in Kazakhstan has been used for it. “The Russian vaccine arrived in 2023 and is now in use,” said Lhunrev Rolomjav.
