Over 1.2 million cases of influenza and SARS have been reported as of week 38 in 2023. The anticipated increase in cases is linked to the arrival of autumn, specifically the onset of cold weather across Russia, along with a rise in cooperative endeavors. 26 regions of Russia recorded the highest rate of infection.
Nearly 98% of respiratory viruses that have been identified are not caused by the influenza virus. The proportion of influenza viruses was 1.4%. Rospotrebnadzor reports that during the last week of 2023, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Russian Federation was impressively low, standing at just over 14 thousand.
