The Ministry of Industry and Energy of the Saratov region has reported that the prototype of the first Russian robotic complex for cardiopulmonary resuscitation, called “CardioRobot”.
CardioRobot outperforms humans by delivering chest compressions that are 15 times longer, lasting approximately 50 minutes. It has the potential to be utilized in emergency rooms, intensive care units, ambulances, and even transplant units. Moreover, the utilization of vitality sensors allows CardioRobot to effectively control and adjust the pressure and depth of compression.
Mikhail Apin, the General Director of NPP Almaz, estimates that hospitals and ambulance stations require approximately 9,000 of these devices. Equipment like this is currently being purchased from overseas. “We plan to launch mass production of devices in 2025, but today we have received about 2,000 applications for this equipment,” he said.
