The Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation says that at the moment the country has reached a historical minimum in terms of infant and child mortality, as well as a growing life expectancy of the population. According to the head of the department, Mikhail Murashko, in 2022 life expectancy increased by an average of 2.7 years, and now it is more than 73 years.
“We have managed to reach a historical minimum in terms of infant and child mortality, and life expectancy today is increasing at a faster pace. In 2022, it grew by 2.7 years, and in 2023 this figure exceeded 73 years,” says Evgenia Kotova, Director of the Department for Monitoring, Analysis and Strategic Development of Healthcare of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, quoted Mikhail Murashko, speaking at the XI International Congress “Orgzdrav-2023” .
