The Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation has allowed simultaneous vaccination against coronavirus infection and influenza. The corresponding changes were made to the instructions for the medical use of Gam-Covid-Vac vaccine (Sputnik V). This was reported in the press service of the department.
The interaction of Sputnik with a vaccine for the prevention of influenza was studied during preclinical trials. As these studies have shown, the immunogenicity of vaccines does not decrease if they are administered simultaneously.
The Ministry of Health of Russia specified that in such cases vaccination injections will be made in different parts of the body, for example, in the left and right upper arms.
The majority of patients hospitalized in Russian hospitals with coronavirus have not been vaccinated against COVID-19. This was previously reported by Mikhail Murashko, the Minister of Health of the Russian Federation.
