On June 7, 2024, the NovaMedica Innotech manufacturing site located in Technopolis Moscow held an educational tour for children “The Birth of a Medicine from A to Z” to celebrate the International Children’s Day.
The company’s employees organized an interactive program, during which children aged 5 to 11, under the guidance of experienced chemical engineers, learned about the stages of drug development and production: they analyzed a mixture of liquid substances using thin-layer chromatography, selected dyes and taste-masking agents for future products, made reactions for raw materials quality, manufactured two dosage forms – tablets and capsules, created packaging and conducted tests for friability, disintegration and strength of the drug. At the end of the event, there were gifts and treats for the young chemical engineers.
Alexey Karpov, Head of the HR and Administrative Support Department, NovaMedica LLC:
“Children always want to know where their parents work, how their workplace is arranged, and what they do to make medicines that help many people live a full life. We timed the tour to celebrate the Children’s Day and had kids of NovaMedica and NovaMedica Innotech employees visit our production facility. Thanks to the enthusiasm of the colleagues at the manufacturing site and pharmaceutical development center, the event turned out to be very lively and educational. Many of the children got so interested in our work that they now see their future in pharmaceutics. And, since we believe one of our goals to be raising future pharma experts, we will definitely repeat this interesting experience.”
