At the first stage of the project, which starts in 2023, Oncodiag will perform tests for the level of CA-62, an innovative marker developed at Skolkovo by Javis Diagnostics. Studies have shown that this marker most effectively (with up to 95% accuracy) detects epithelial tumors in the early stages of cancer (up to 90% of all cancer cases), including lung, ovarian, prostate, breast, and colorectal cancer.
A vaccine against allergy to birch pollen has been developed by FMBA

The birch pollen allergy vaccine developed by the State Research Center Institute of Immunology of the Federal Medical and Biological Agency (FMBA) of Russia together with the Vienna Medical University protects from allergy after three to five injections, unlike extract-based vaccines available in the market, which have to be administered up to 30 times. This was announced by Igor Shilovsky, Deputy Director for Science and Innovation of the Institute.

Drug resistance in non-small cell lung cancer could be curbed with CD70-targeted therapies

Many patients with EGFR-mutated non-small cell lung cancer, or NSCLC, face a frustrating prognosis. While initial treatment with EGFR-targeted tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) works well, “persister” cells that are left behind will almost certainly cause the cancer to return. The disease becomes much harder to fight when it comes back, as the new tumors are highly resistant not only to TKIs but other drugs as well.
The FMBA will open four more new plasma centers in the regions

The Agency will open new plasma centers in Nizhny Novgorod, Chuvashia, the Republic of Mari El, and the Perm Krai in the next two years. This will help to increase the volume of blood plasma harvesting, including for the production of domestic drugs and solving the issue of import dependence.
