Six new antiepileptic drugs will be registered in Russia

Six more drugs are in the final stage of clinical trials, Veronika Skvortsova, Minister of Health of the Russian Federation said at a briefing.

“In September this year the new antiepileptic medicines will receive registration, there are only six of them, but taking into account the different pharmaceutical forms and different strengths, respectively, more than ten,” said the Minister.

According to the Minister, six antiepileptic drugs in non-invasive forms are in the stage of clinical trials.

“These clinical studies are already at the stage of completion,” Mrs. Skvortsova added.

The Minister recalled that in 2012, only 53 antiepileptic medicines were registered on the territory of the country, and 25 of them were made in Russia.

“To date, in 2018 – 212, that is 4 times more. Including 115 Russian, this is already 54%,” said Mrs. Skvortsova
