A draft proposal for amendments to the Russian Government Order No. 2406-r, dated October 12, 2019, has been released on the official website of the Russian Ministry of Health. The amendments were prepared following the meetings of the Ministry of Health commission held in late August 2024.
The draft outlines plans to incorporate 21 new international nonproprietary names (INN) into the list of vital and essential drugs (VED). In addition, new dosage forms will be added for a number of existing drugs. Certain forms were approved from the list without extensive discussion, as they are equivalent to those already included in the VED list. However, new forms and INNs were considered and voted on separately.
The list of drugs within the framework of the high-cost nosologies (HCN) program will also be expanded. It is planned to include ravulizumab for the treatment of paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria and isatuximab, used in multiple and refractory multiple myeloma. During the meetings, the commission also voted to add a subcutaneous form of daratumumab, but it is not indicated in the draft document, since the drugs are included in the VZN only by INN, without specifying the forms.
