In 2023, Russia produced 6 billion drug packages

The Minister of Health of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Murashko, announced that more than 80% of the medications classified as vital and essential (VED) are currently being produced in Russia. Extensive efforts have been made to significantly boost the proportion of domestic drugs in the Russian pharmaceutical market.

“More than 80% of the drugs in the Vital and Essential Drugs list are manufactured within the territory of the Russian Federation,” stated Murashko. ” According to him, more than 550 pharmaceutical production facilities are currently operating in the country, and over the past year, 6 billion packages of medicines were released into civilian circulation, of which 70% were produced in Russia.
