Russia has eliminated the tax on gratuitous patent transfers

A new law has been signed by Vladimir Putin that exempts the transfer of a patent from taxation. The law’s detailed information is available on the official legal information portal, and it will come into effect in just a month.

In the past, individuals and companies who received patent rights without any cost were required to pay a tax. For citizens, this meant a tax on their personal income, while companies had to pay a profit tax. However, a beneficial change has now been implemented.
