Experts will soon conduct research on the compatibility of vaccines against influenza and coronavirus, as Oleg Gridnev, Deputy Minister of Health of Russia, stated.
“In order to provide vaccination against coronavirus and influenza at the same time, it is necessary to check the vaccines for safety and effectiveness again, but only within the framework of simultaneous administration,” TASS quotes Gridnev’s speech at the opening of the “Life with viruses” exhibition.
Gridnev said that on September 16, a meeting of experts on immunoprophylaxis was held and it was decided to conduct the corresponding studies.
“So these studies will be carried out as soon as possible, and a final decision will be made on the possibility of their simultaneous use. But until they are carried out, we maintain the period that was already stated, that is, one month,” he explained.
Earlier, it became known that it is possible to get a flu shot four weeks after the second dose of the coronavirus vaccine was administered. This was reported by Oksana Drapkina, chief consultant specialist of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation for therapy and general medical practice, director of the FSBI “National Medical Research Center for Preventive Medicine”.
