The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) has completed scientific and technical editing of 157 draft general pharmacopoeia monographs included in the first edition of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) Pharmacopoeia. On December 27, these drafts were approved by Elena Sakanyan, Chairman of the Pharmacopoeia Committee of the Eurasian Economic Union. In the near future, the issue on approving the EAEU Pharmacopoeia is planned to be submitted to a meeting of the Commission’s Board.
General pharmacopoeia monographs included in the first edition contain equipment requirements for analytical research, reagents, description of physical and physico-chemical methods of analysis, pharmaceutical and technological test, as well as general requirements for testing of dosage forms.
The EAEU Pharmacopoeia will have a regional status and will be used as the basis for regulating quality of medical products and standardizing chemical-analytical tests of medical products for the EAEU common market of medicines.
