NovaMedica experts spoke to participants of GxP-Fest 2024 about career opportunities in the pharmaceutical industry

27 April 2024

On April 19, 2024, the final of the 4th International Student Festival GxP-Fest 2024 took place at the Krasny Oktyabr space in Moscow. This was one of the main events organized by the Eurasian Academy of Good Practices with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and the Eurasian Economic Commission for students and professors of specialized Russian and EAEU universities, representatives of Russian and foreign regulators and pharmaceutical companies, as well as experts in the field of professional education.

Sixty university student teams took part in the final round of GxP-Fest 2024 in Moscow. Five teams came to the festival finals to present their projects in the special IT competition “Digital Pharma of the Future”. Elena LITVINOVA, CEO of NovaMedica, joined the jury board for the final stage of GxP-Fest 2024.

The company's experts held a number of master classes that aroused great interest among festival participants.

Quality Director of NovaMedica Ekaterina RASTOLTSEVA conducted an interactive master class called “Drugs from idea to pharmacy shelf”. In her presentation, Ekaterina covered the entire large-scale process of the birth of a drug, from creation of a molecule to meeting the patient, with a focus on the professions of specialists, whose competencies and experience reflect on the quality of the product. An important practical component of the master class were real examples from the portfolio of NovaMedica, the company that develops unique drugs and provides patients with effective therapy for various diseases of the central nervous system.

Ekaterina RASTOLTSEVA, Quality Director of NovaMedica and NovaMedica Innotech:

The festival was not only a very inspiring and positive event for me, but it also allowed me to meet my future colleagues. I was very glad to see that the students were really interested in what I was saying. There were a lot of questions regarding clinical trials, drug registration and compliance with GMP requirements in pharmaceutical manufacturing. I am confident that today’s students of specialized universities will show their worth when they take over and will become real drivers in the development of the Russian pharmaceutical industry”.

Alexey KARPOV, Head of the HR and Administrative Support Division of NovaMedica, gave a master class on “How to find your dream job in a pharmaceutical company”. Alexey outlined in detail the professional and personal qualities that future specialists will need, discussed a possible career path and held an interactive session on writing a resume and a cover letter and successfully passing a job interview.

At the NovaMedica stand, experts discussed with future applicants promising areas for development in the profession and talked about broad opportunities for starting – from laboratory and manufacturing to marketing and sales of drugs in our team. The students asked questions and showed an active interest in job opportunities and internships. Eighty six participants have been successfully registered in our young talent database, and we are starting to actively work with them.

Alexey KARPOV, Head of the HR and Administrative Support Division of NovaMedica and NovaMedica Innotech:

“We are actively building up our team, and the demand for specialists is higher than ever, so participation in the festival finals was timely and productive. It was nice to see sparkling eyes and share information about career opportunities and growth at NovaMedica. Most of the festival participants intend to find jobs in their areas of specialization and are willing to develop in the pharmaceutical industry; many are especially inspired by creation of new drugs – work in R&D. Young professionals are aware of their potential and prospects, are focused on innovation, and, of course, are on the lookout for future employers. We are very pleased with the excellent experience of participating in the festival and the prospects of working together in NovaMedica and NovaMedica Innotech.

CEO of NovaMedica Elena LITVINOVA shared her thoughts on participation in GxP-Fest 2024:

This is a remarkable initiative of the Eurasian Academy of Good Practices, which, once again, exceeded even the most daring forecasts as to the number of teams, geography of festival participants and, of course, the quality of talent and depth of expertise demonstrated during the Olympiad and defense of projects in the finals of the Digital Pharma of the Future competition. The event is striking in its scale, the level of speakers and experts from the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Eurasian Economic Commission and leading pharmaceutical companies, who discussed the prospects and directions for development of the industry in an open dialogue with the students.

I was inspired by the interaction with the finalists, their energy and will to create their future in the pharmaceutical industry. Thanks to initiatives such as the GxP-fest, the important tasks of modernizing pharmaceutical education with an emphasis on industrial pharmacy are being successfully solved. I am confident that with such strong human resources potential, all ambitious plans for development of the industry will be brought to fruition.”
