The pharmaceutical industry in St. Petersburg has shown remarkable growth in production over the last five years, with the opening of 14 new drug production sites in the city. Vice-Governor Kirill Polyakov highlighted this expansion in a recent statement.
He added that in five years the area of the St. Petersburg special economic zone (SEZ) has doubled. The volume of investments by SEZ residents in the development of sites amounted to 105 billion rubles, and the total revenue of all companies reached 404 billion rubles.
“These figures indicate that investors’ investments in the creation of new enterprises in the SEZ are paying off and showing their economic efficiency. Expanding the SEZ twice will allow us to increase the number of companies and strengthen the production and technological potential of the city’s economy,” Polyakov said.
