Zakhar has been with NovaMedica since 2013. He has more than 20 years of experience in healthcare in Russia and abroad, both in the pharmaceutical market and in the medical sphere.

At NovaMedica, Zakhar is responsible for the Medical Department, which ensures interaction between the company and the healthcare and scientific community. At various stages of NovaMedica’s development, the Medical Department led by Zakhar provided support for partnership programs related to products of Pfizer, Ferring Pharmaceuticals, AstraZeneca and others. Besides that, it has been actively involved in furthering our own drug development program implemented by the R&D center NovaMedica Innotech.

Earlier, Zakhar also ensured expert support in building and developing the portfolio of the biotech venture fund RusnanoMedInvest (owned by Rusnano JSC).

For more than 10 years before that, Zakhar had worked at medical clinics in Israel, specializing in neurosurgery and cardiothoracic surgery.

Zakhar is a licensed medical doctor in Russia, Israel and the US. He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and European Society for Medical Oncology. He graduated from the Tashkent Medical Academy in 2000 with a degree in neurosurgery.
