This was announced by Anna Popova, Head of Rospotrebnadzor, Chief Sanitary Doctor of the Russian Federation.

“As our scientists-developers have assured us, the quadrivalent vaccine will be available by the end of this year. Therefore in the next year’s season we will be able to vaccinate against all four strains,” Mrs. Popova said.

According to her this year in the Russian Federation, domestic trivalent vaccines are used for children and adults.

“The first wave of morbidity will be in the middle of autumn,” commented Mrs. Popova, noting that these are the standard annual expert assessments. More precisely, the trend will be clear when physicians begin to record the first cases.

The Head of Rospotrebnadzor also noted that by September 1, about 50% of the required volume of vaccines would be delivered to the regions of the Russian Federation.

“Since the beginning of September we will start immunizations,” Mrs. Popova said.
