The demand for drugs in Russian pharmacies grew by 15-20 percent over the past two months compared to the same period in 2013, according to TASS referring to the research of the Centre of Social Economy.

According to experts, this demand is mainly due to the current unstable economic situation in the country, as well as a seasonal disease - influenza and SARS. Analysts noted that the high demand for drugs began to occur in mid-November of this year, with the growth rate of foreign currencies against the ruble.

"People started to panic and buy medicines for the next six months. Increased demand continues to be observed" - the researchers say. According to their estimates, people have begun to acquire 30 per cent of drugs more than they need.

This situation can lead to the fact that drugs purchased at old prices, run faster, respectively, will lead to their a rise in price. But in any case, experts say the increase in the cost of drugs due to the high rate, as 60-70 percent of all drugs in the pharmacy are imported. Russian drugs also increase in price due to the fact that part of the raw materials and equipment used in manufacturing, also purchased for the currency.

By the end of the current year is projected to increase drug prices by about 15 percent. In 2015, drug prices continue to increase, as a whole as 15 percent. But analysts do remark that the accurate prediction of the rise in prices can be given only after the ruble stabilized.

At the same time, experts note that the shortage of medicines will not work if some companies decide to leave the Russian market due unprofitable work, you can always find analogues that can be even cheaper than the original drug. "The shortage of medicines will not supply are timely and accurately", - they say.
