Russian manufacturers are prepared to boost saline solution production, says the Ministry of Industry and Trade

In light of recent reports highlighting a shortage of saline in medical facilities and pharmacies, the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade has announced plans to boost sodium chloride production by domestic manufacturers to ensure that current market demands are fully satisfied.

The ministry reports that current sodium chloride stocks in Russian pharmacies, medical institutions, and wholesale companies total approximately 19.8 million packages, with over 10 million of these being infusion solutions. In 2023, prominent manufacturers such as Firma Medpolymer, Grotex, and Zavod Medsintez consistently documented the series and batches of sodium chloride infusion solutions with Roszdravnadzor.
