It is necessary to form the stock of medicines in Russia’s regions for at least four months. The instruction towards that goal was given by the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation. This was stated by Mikhail Murashko, the head of the Ministry.

“The Ministry of Health has given strict instructions to all regions to have a sufficient amount – at least four months of stock – of medicines in order to support medical processes. This is the minimum amount of reserves that medical organizations should have,” TASS quotes Murashko.

According to the head of the Ministry of Health, supplies of foreign drugs to Russia are sometimes delayed, but no refusals to supply have taken place, and there are no serious threats to the pharmaceutical market.

“Foreign products are sometimes delayed by logistic chains specifics; we do not see any refusals to supply or serious big threats today, but there are difficulties that have their impact on the speed of delivery,” Mikhail Murashko said.

The Minister stressed that the increase in the production of medicines in the country was ahead of schedule.

“In general, we see that the supply of drugs and the increase in domestic production are proceeding as planned, at a high pace. By changing the regulatory system, we ensure fast-track launch of domestic drugs to the market,” he said.

Murashko previously stated that the Russian Federation is developing a project of the introduction of personal medical assistants.
