Russia to Supply over 2 million Doses of its COVID-19 Vaccine to Kazakhstan

The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), Russia’s sovereign wealth fund, and SK-Pharmacy, a Kazakh company, have announced an agreement for the supply of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine to Kazakhstan.

SK-Pharmacy is a sole distributor for the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan. It is expected that the batch of the vaccine to be delivered to the country will be produced by one of RDIF’s international partners.

On August 11, the Sputnik V vaccine developed by the Gamaleya National Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology was registered by the Ministry of Health of Russia and became the world’s first registered vaccine against COVID-19.
