The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), Russia’s sovereign wealth fund, Vnukovo International Airport and Moscow Domodedovo Airport announce an agreement to launch express COVID-19 testing based on highly accurate Russian-Japanese EMG systems for arriving and departing passengers.

The express service for COVID-19 diagnosis, which provides the most reliable result in 60 minutes, will become available at the airports for all passengers within a week. Test results will be available in Russian and English.

The EMG diagnostic system created with support from RDIF is one of the fastest and most accurate testing systems in the world. It has been adapted for both fixed and unique mobile mini-laboratories (the portable system fits into two small suitcases).

The rapid COVID-19 testing service using the EMG systems was also launched at Sheremetyevo International Airport in July.

The test systems are already used for preventive testing at production facilities of the largest Russian companies, as well as for ensuring safety at major events.

Kirill Dmitriev, CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, said:

“The launch of coronavirus testing based on the EMG systems for passengers at Moscow’s largest airports will allow air traffic and tourist flows to resume, as well as ensuring the safety of passengers. Among the advantages of the EMG test systems are the high accuracy and promptness of the tests. Passengers will receive results in two languages in just 60 minutes, which is one of the best results in the world. RDIF is in talks with key representatives of a number of countries to end quarantine for arriving Russians if they submit negative coronavirus test results before departure.”
