In 2024, the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) successfully lowered the prices of 820 medications across 95 international nonproprietary names (INN). Their cost decreased by an average of 16%, the press service of the agency reported.
“This was accomplished by aligning the prices submitted for registration, as well as those previously registered, with the stipulations outlined in the legislation.” These mainly include a reduction in drug prices relative to reference countries and prices of generics relative to original drugs,” the report says.
FAS specialists analyzed over 11,000 drug prices (more than 600 INNs) in the past year. This figure was 57% higher than 2023 results. Of these, 10,257 were agreed upon, including 1,283 prices (107 INNs) – to eliminate the risks of drug shortages.
